October 2019

I think I should report a theft. Who stole the summer months?

I said last time out that Book Baby 5 was occupying all my time – I wasn’t joking! Somehow, I have blinked and an entire summer has vanished!

Ok, I’ll start with the Book Baby 5 update.

Book Baby 5 aka Shattered Hearts is in the throes of proofreading and editing. In case you missed it on my main blog or FB Author Page, here’s the cover:

red broken heart

red broken heart on wooden background – dark and moody

Shattered Hearts will be published on 6 December 2019. I’m still working on the pre-order details but these should be finalised this month (all going to plan) Keep an eye on my FB Author Page and Amazon 😉

I’ll be honest, I hate editing and proofreading. It’s a necessary evil of the role of an indie author and you do get a tremendous sense of satisfaction when it is done. I’ve mentioned them many times before but I really couldn’t do this without the love and endless support from my Infamous Five. This one has been a tough journey for many reasons and I am indebted for life to these guys.

So, what else has been happening?

Well, everyone’s favourite dark angel made a couple of appearances on my blog.

Missed them? No need to worry, here’s the links.

The longer term plan, probably the five year plan, is to pull these together into a novel….. watch this space but be patient!

If time allows, she may make another appearance before the end of the year.

My alter ego has also escaped a few times- it’s research…honest!!!

There are a few more musical adventures in the diary for the last few months of the year 😉

This month I am also taking part in an online book fair. I have two books in the mix for this one. The event runs right through to 5th November so please spare a moment or two to check it out.

I think that’s you all up to speed on what’s been happening. I’m still posting weekly to my blog so if you have a few minutes to spare over your morning coffee, check it out.

It can be lonely at times being an indie author. You look at your KDP reports and if there’s a “dry spell” you do begin to lose a little faith – well, I do at least. Sometimes though, something magical happens and the motivational levels are restored. Over the past week or two several of my FB friends have been participating in a 7 Day Book Challenge. (Each day for 7 days they had to post a book cover that meant something to them) I was totally blown away to see this:

You know who you are- thank you!!!

If you haven’t read any of the Silver Lake series then you still have time to catch up before 6 December when Shattered Hearts makes its debut. I’ll post the book links at the bottom.

So, for now, thank you for the continued love and support.

Time to make another coffee and get back to editing.

Love and hugs to you all
